Spanish-born artist-designer Jaime Hayon established his own studio in 2000, leading a new wave of creators that blurred the lines between art, decoration and design. His debut in ‘Mediterranean Digital Baroque’ at London’s David Gill Gallery was followed by a number of notable exhibitions and installations in international galleries and museums, including Aram Gallery, London’s Design Museum, Mudac Museum and Centre Pompidou, with the designer quickly capturing the attention and imagination of art and design insiders alike.
Plenty of accolades followed — Hayon was named ‘Breakthrough Creator’ by Wallpaper* magazine and was Maison Objet's 'Designer of the Year' in 2010 — and the designer has collaborated on furniture collections with iconic brands that include Fritz Hansen, Magis, Established and Sons and Ceccotti. As well as museums and galleries, the work of Hayon, now with offices in Spain, Japan and Italy, can be found in leading hotels, restaurants and retail establishments around the world.
