Crafted from pure ceramic, this pink vessel is taken from Completedworks' 'Fold' collection, which — through ceramics, pearls and precious stones — traces elements of choreography while simultaneously alluding to chance and serendipity. In 'Giant Wake', creases, bends and curves are combined for a dramatic silhouette that conveys movement and fluidity, and also nods to the application of drapery in the history of painting. In using various types of folds to communicate different narratives, 'Giant Wake' and the wider collection, reflects a conceptual, theme-based approach and presents a compelling observation on memory, society, consumerism.
