Valentina Cameranesi Sgroi's 'Avalon' series moves beyond the objective of perfection typically associated with contemporary vases. Instead, the collection — produced by Bloc Studios — presents a family of complex shapes where veining and chromatic variations are celebrated and paired with a formal ambiguity that indicates the talent of the sculptors who are able to craft shapes in which these elements are fully maximized. This version of the vase combines an upper bowl cut from black marble with a base carved from pink stone. Natural stone is inherently subject to natural variations in pattern, color, texture and veining. Actual product may vary to the sample photo shown above.
