Artek's 'Tea Trolley 901', originally designed by Alvar Aalto, an admirer of British tea culture, has been given a revamp by Japanese designer Jo Nagasaka as part of his ColoRing series for the brand. The original silhouette — defined by two shelves, a solid birch handle and twin wheels — is still there, but this special edition is notable for designer Nagasaka's application of two layers of red and turquoise lacquer to the surface. Easily maneuvered and parked, the lightweight tea trolley can be utilised in a traditional way to serve refreshments, or it may be also employed to display small objects and books in a modern interpretation of this design classic.
