Sebastian Herkner's 2016 'Boule' collection for Pulpo looks to the time-honoured French pastime of pétanque, an outdoor ball game, for inspiration. As such, the table lamp takes on a spherical form, created by a clear mouth-blown glass shade within which an opaque LED bulb emits a soft glow — a light imitation of the boule silhouette and a nod to the fading light of the early evenings on which the game is usually played. Nestled atop a black ceramic stand, the lamp can be placed on a range of flat surfaces for a sophisticated and elegant presence in a range of spaces. Requires a 16W, 220-240V LED bulb.
