'Tema e Varazione N.350, Gemini' wall plate

The stylized face of opera singer Lina Cavalieri is infinitely reimagined across collectible objects in Fornasetti’s 'Tema e Variazioni' series. The Zodiac collection features a family of wall plates dedicated to the signs of the Zodiac. Each plate illustrates the astrological sign in true Fornasetti style, with the name of each sign appearing on the piece. Cavalieri’s face is doubled across the 'Tema e Varazione N.350, Gemini' plate, symbolic of the twin constellation, reulting in a surreal third eye and eyebrow in the piece's center. This hand-decorated, black and white monochrome wall plate is designed to be suspended, via two holes on the reverse, or used ornamentally in striking table set ups. Owing to artisanal craftsmanship, plates may reveal minor distinctions, making each piece unique.
