Bringing together a naturalism inspired by Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro together with an Art Nouveau inspiration, the 'Azulejo Box' series presents a collection of decorative ceramic containers. Topped with a lid embellished with a small butterfly tile (C. 1905), the box is finished with a manually applied glaze and nods to Pinheiro's design of the Portugal Pavilion at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1889.
