Famous for his minimalist and inventive furniture, Czech architect and designer Jan Padrnos has built a name on his ability to create designs characterised by humour, simplicity, functionality and elegance. Working extensively with horizontal and verticals, Padrnos' designs offer a sense of lightness despite the designer's penchant for materials like stainless steel, Corian, wood and glass.
Having launched Blackbox — the exclusive manufacturer of his designs — in 2000, Padrnos offers wide variety of services in the field of design and architecture, as well as collaborating with other brands such as Uměleckoprůmyslové závody (Art Industry Enterprises), for which he designed the “Couple” sofa and the “Heavy Sky” table.
