A major innovator of modern Swedish utility design, Pierre Forssell (1925–2004) was renowned both in his home country and abroad for his modernist designs. Succeeding Erik Fleming at Skultuna Messingsbruk and working with the company from 1955 to 1986, Forssell contributed a number of classic designs, often working with brass — a preference no doubt influenced by his study of silversmithing at Konstfack.
Many of the designs created by Forsell in the 1960s and 70s continue to be popular, including the 'Pendulum' sconce and 'Reflex' candle holder.
