A graduate in art and 3D design at the Tama Art University, Fukasawa began his career at Seiko Epson before establishing his eponymous firm in Tokyo in 2003. Soon after, the designer united with Muji as an advisory board member, a partnership that saw Fukasawa collaborate with the Japanese brand on the creation of a number of iconic items, including their famous wall-mounted CD player.
In 2003, he launched plusminuszero, a product brand specialising in domestic items, which he designs for whilst simultaneously collaborating with European brands such as Alessi.
