Described as the most influential designer of his generation, Marc Newson has applied his vision to furniture, household objects, bicycles, cars, aircraft, yachts, various architectural commissions, and sculptural pieces. A childhood spent travelling in Europe and Asia has informed much of Newson's creations — which span technology, transportation, fashion and the luxury goods sector — many of which have achieved 'design icon' status.
Appointed the Royal Designer for Industry in the United Kingdom, Newson also holds adjunct professorships at Sydney College of the Arts and Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and most recently was created CBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. His work is exhibited internationally at institutions that include MoMA in New York, the Design Museum and the V&A in London, and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.
