Internationally renowned and considered by many to be one of the best Italian designers of his generation, Enzo Mari (1932–2020) led a career distinguished by ongoing research and experimentation. This continuous mode of exploration was often set in contrast with the traditional norms of industrial design and often materialised following collaborations with a range of brands and companies within the realms of graphics, publishing, industrial products and exhibition fittings.
In addition to the thousands of objects that were designed throughout Mari's career, the result was numerous personal and collective exhibitions at galleries and museums across the world, as well as many accolades, including the Compasso d’Oro, which he was awarded three times.
