Hailing from Istanbul and trained in sculpture at the Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts, Alev Ebüzziya Siesbye is a celebrated ceramic artist whose work is not only characterised by small vessels, but also the innovative techniques used to create them. In addition to producing commercial collections for Rosenthal and Royal Copenhagen, Siesbye’s work is also featured in a number of international
museums and galleries, including New York's Cooper Hewitt and the Musée Bellerive in Zürich. Her highly autobiographical vessels, which are shaped by the artist's personal experience and cultural history, have garnered Siesbye numerous accolades such as the Sanat Kurumu Ceramics Prize and the prestigious Knight of Dannebrogordenen from The Royal Court of Copenhagen.
