Founded in 2006 by Dame Zaha Hadid, Zaha Hadid Design creates inventive and unforgettable designs in the form of homeware, lighting, furniture and exhibitions.
Favouring traditional materials when crafting products such as bone china, acrylics and ceramic, the brand has an undeniable talent for taking everyday objects such as candleholders, platters and bowls and adding a trademark twist to them in the form of shape, colour and design, giving way to traditional pieces that have been revamped in a contemporary way.
The brand operates under the Co-Directors Woody Yao, who joined Zaha Hadid Architects in 1994 after graduating from the Architectural Association - School of Architecture, and Maha Kutay, who joined the year after in 1995 following completion of an MA in Architecture at Columbia University.
With 40 years’ experience and research poured into the brand, together they have produced prestigious collections for their own label and successfully created limited-edition pieces in collaboration with some of the world’s most iconic brands.
Focusing on contrasts, asymmetrical forms and artisan craftsmanship, Zaha Hadid Design takes the ordinary and makes it extraordinary, daring to try new ideas and venture onto the road less travelled.
The brand and Zaha Hadid herself are critically acclaimed for the work contributing to various architectural projects in famous cities around the world.
Creating unique and original forms, the brand plays with colour to create pieces that catch the light, have funky shapes and look different depending on which angle you see them from.
