Belgian brothers Axel and Serge Van Den Bossche re-launched their mother's pottery business under the name of Serax in 1986. With the help of their nephew Frank Lambert the brand grew to encompass a wide range of decorative objects for the home that now includes around 4,000 items, including glassware, small furniture and accessories to elegant dinnerware. Today, it remains a family business with obvious passion and enthusiasm.
Serax constantly renews its styles and materials, establishing itself as a design platform and leader in the hospitality sector, a reputation augmented by the brand’s collaborations with both national and international designers. Their first collaboration in 1990, was with Peter Arts and was revolutionary in the florist design industry. A year later Serax achieved international fame for its collaboration with Daniel Ost, who designed ‘The Flower Booth’ for the French design fair Maison & Objet. Since then, dozens of partnerships with the brand have followed.
After collaborating with artist Roos van de Velde in 2009 to launch her tableware collection, Serax is now the number one reference for Michelin chefs to provide them with the necessary creative porcelain or ceramics necessary to enhance the aesthetics of their dishes.
The brand aims to add personality to your interior and create unforgettable moments at the dining table, while all the time working with passionate designers and using traditional handicraft.
Serax works with skilled craftsmen from Vietnam through Antwerp to Portugal, each one respecting the basic idea of each design. Selected prototypes from designers are matched with the right craftsmen to manufacture on a larger scale, even if it means travelling the globe. The collections are always unique for their shapes, materials and style, with the distinct purpose of creating interiors that bring happiness.
