Bursting onto the scene in the 1950s, Emilio Pucci (1914-1992) is widely regarded as a major influence in contemporary fashion and one whose legacy continues today thanks to the designer's penchant for graphic prints, free flowing silhouettes and creative diversification. Born to one of Florence’s oldest families, Pucci's arrival on the fashion scene was marked by his design of a revolutionary ski outfit, followed by the opening of a Capri boutique dedicated to resort clothing. Later on he developed the signature graphic and abstract prints which are now synonymous with the Pucci
brand — swirls of organic forms and geometric patterns inspired by the designer's many travels, and always featuring a tiny hand-written form of the designer’s name, in the debut of a name as a logo. In the years since the designer's death, the brand has collaborated on furniture projects with Cappellini and Kartell, the 2019 book 'Unexpected Pucci', edited by Rizzoli New York, and the restyling of Palazzo Pucci, which brings to life the Emilio Pucci Heritage Hub in Florence.
